NEW GRAB LOADERS
A grab lorry (also called a grab truck, grab wagon, or tipper grab) is essentially a self-loading tipper truck. By combining a heavy-duty HARDOX steel body with a Palfinger Epsilon M125L classic crane and clamshell bucket, it gives you the flexibility to load, haul and unload without any other equipment. This independence is critical in congested cities and rural country sides.
Every Kel-Berg tipper grab body is laser cut, hydraulically pressed, and robot-welded from HARDOX 450 steel, giving an incredibly durable body that can withstand the abrasive nature of hardcore, aggregates, and muck away.

If you need versatility, a new grab truck from Kel-Berg is probably what you need. Whether it’s muck-away from foundations or drainage trenches, loading demolition clearance of brick, block and rebar directly into the body, delivering bagged aggregates or bulk-bagged sand, stone or topsoil, or utilities contracting for water, gas and fibre roll-outs where excavations are narrow and space is limited.
6 WHEEL & 8 WHEEL GRAB TRUCKS
Our grab bodies are available on two chassis configurations as standard. 6×4 chassis, 26 ton truck, or 8×4 chassis, 32 ton truck.
Our most common specification is the day cab 8 wheel grab truck with automatic gearbox. Exact specifications vary by chassis brand. All DAF, Scania, and Volvo models come with air conditioning. They also have electric mirrors and air-suspended seats.
Additionally, these models include a radio and Bluetooth for mobile phones. All vehicles come equipped with Euro 6 engines, so you will remain LEZ and ULEZ compliant no matter where you drive.
GRAB TRUCK OPTIONS
Depending on where you are operating your grab truck, they may be some additional extras that you need. We can customise your new grab truck before it leaves our yard so that it’s site and city compliant. This includes:
- Electric Easy Sheet System – preventing load shedding
- Weighing Systems – guarantees legal axle loads
- Camera Systems – reverse camera or full 360 degree for FORS and TfL requirements
- Aluminium Wheels – save even more weight and have your vehicles shine out on the road
- High Voltage Cable Detector – essential for crews working beneath overhead power lines
We can install these in-house, so your vehicle will be ready to go as soon as you pick it up.
GRAB LORRY CHASSIS
Your grab body is only as good as the chassis beneath it. All of our complete grab trucks are mounted on construction-grade chassis from DAF, Scania or Volvo:
- DAF XDC FAD 450 8×4 chassis
- Scania P410 XT 8×4 chassis
- Volvo FMX 420 8×4 chassis
All three brands offer greater ground clearance, reinforced chassis webs and cross members, and off-road software modes that optimise ABS, ASR and differentials for better off-road performance, giving improve traction when it matters.
